"*My player* has played on five different travel teams between softball and volleyball. This, by far, has been the best travel season! The communication throughout the past season from the top down was excellent. The live feed at practices and games was so appreciated! *My player*'s grandmother and brother were able to watch even when they couldn't travel with us.
I am not a coach and will never pretend to be. I may not know the intricacies of the sport like other parents do, but I watch every game and every practice (online) and I can see how my daughter has progressed overall. *My player* is a great kid! She tends to strive for perfection in all areas of her life, which can lead to self-doubt and anxiety when things don't go as she plans. She asks a million questions in her goal to grow as a player, which I'm sure can be a little frustrating to some coaches. What *My player* has learned this past season goes well beyond the court and she was so excited to continue that growth this year! Coach Haley taught her how to really play her position, the specific skills of her position and how to play her position as part of a team rather than in isolation. Coach Jason taught her how to really watch what the other team was doing, how to strategize based on that, and how to plan out where she was going to serve. As far as volleyball skills, I can't believe the growth I have seen in her passing, her serves and her hits. They both taught her mental toughness and how to believe in herself, which is the most difficult lesson for *My player*. They answered every question she had with the same amount of infinite patience as if it was her first question and because of that, her confidence in herself and her playing grew. That growth transcended off the court in her life as well. This team has made her a more well-rounded player.

The Patches' coaching extended to off the court with team bonding. They made it a point to get to know their players and families off the court and develop working relationships. Their genuine interest and concern for their players was something I have never experienced in all my years on the sidelines. There is always some drama with teenage girls on a team, but the team bonding allowed the girls to get to know each other as people and taught the girls how to bond with a player they were always competing with! Overall, this group of girls celebrated one another during the wins and supported one another during the losses! They were such a special group!

I think this season can best be summed up in something *my player* said to me when she had to decide between travel softball and volleyball this year. She said, "I know what that quote 'A coach can make or break a sport for a player' means now. That was really true for me this year. Coach Haley and Coach Jason made volleyball for me. They believed in me. My softball coach did not make it for me. It made the decision between travel softball and volleyball really easy for me this year." As a result, she chose volleyball."

My daughter had only been playing volleyball for 2 years when she started playing for Coach Haley. Since then she has developed such a love for the game and improved so much that she now can't wait to play in college too! And if you ask her, she will tell you that this is because of the confidence, encouragement, and attention to her development that Coach Haley and Coach Jason have put into her improving on the court. Not only are they kind and generous as coaches but they treat every girl on the team as if they were a part of their family and as a parent, I always felt like I was part of that family too!
